Easter crochet inspired by Attic24

Easter 2012

My family; husband, two daughters, aged 16 and 12 plus a very soppy black cocker spaniel.
Easter 2012 finds us in the middle of exam revision, well not me...the girls...although this is infinitely worse than it being me, as I can only hope they are learning something and not just spending long days in their bedrooms contemplating life.(I suspect my 16 year old of doing this anyway, alongside revision, as this is what 16 year olds do).  It is the summer of GCSE's for my eldest and annual exams for my youngest. I am laid up, in week 5 of my broken ankle...this has been a blessing in disguise. It has slowed me down and re-addressed the balance between physical and mental activity in my life. It has taught my family how much work goes into simply maintaining the status quo, never mind birthdays, Easter, dinner partys, prom dresess, holidays etc. It has meant that my husband has lost half a stone by virtue of the fact he rarely sits down now and has forgotten those days when he returned from work to recline in Romanesque style on the sofa, to be served all evening whilst watching the TV between intermittent cat naps.  It has, in essence, reset the programming of this family's computer and upgraded its performance!
I still managed my Easter tree, decorations and coached my youngest daughter in the art of crispy crackle cakes, so all was not lost and we are off on our annual Easter trip to Cornwall in a few days and cannot wait to get to my favourite place in the whole world! Sea, boats and pasties are calling me!!
